What Is The Exposure Triangle ?

To be really honest with you guys , I had NO Idea what Exposure Triangle Meant when I started using my DSLR . Much Of what I learned was indeed from the mistakes I made . Each time I took a picture I wondered about how to make these pictures look even more beautiful . Later I started searching on the web and watching tutorials to actually learn the working behind the camera. I gotta say that once the principal of camera is Clear , It becomes much more easy to take good photos.

SO HERE ARE THE 3 TOP MOST THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHILE TAKING PHOTOS -

The exposure triangle is a key ingredient towards taking good photos . Once the exposure Triangle is Perfect, You can take Incredibly beautiful pictures using your camera . To Begin With It is important to understand that All the three things mentioned in the picture above have got something to do with lighting . So If you are a photographer YOU KNOW THAT LIGHTING IS THE KEY .
So . . .
  1. Aperture -  It is mainly a hole in the lens through which light enters . So Larger aperture allows more light to enter whereas Small Aperture allows only little light to enter . If you have a camera Aperture is mainly Shown With a Capital "F" Before ( F 5.0 , F 22 etc . ). It is confusing at first to know that 'F 22' Means that the aperture is actually small and 'F 5.0' means that the aperture is actually Big . Nevertheless If you are a big fan of DSLR it is probably because of Aperture . This is because Aperture is the reason behind giving your pictures a blurred background . A Small Aperture Blurs the background the most , which is why you must have seen Small Aperture like F 1.8 and F 2.8 on Macro Lens.  Understanding Depth Of Field is really important as It is needed to justify whether you want the subject to stand out or the background . Usually A larger aperture makes the background stand out and gives you much sharper image ( Which is why it is used for landscape photography).

2. Shutter Speed - The Next Pillar of the Exposure triangle, and one of the most important element of a good photo . It generally means the amount of time the shutter is kept open . So less time means less light enters whereas more time means more light enters the lens. Shutter Speed is generally expressed in fraction like ( 1/20 , 1/400 etc.) , but sometimes you can adjust the shutter speed to more than one second. But this makes the camera more prone to shakes which could  result in a blurry picture. Nevertheless a use of tripod is mandatory if you are taking a photo with shutter speed kept to more than one second because even a minute shake of your hand might destroy the whole image. Keeping the perfect shutter speed is necessary because a higher shutter speed might result in a dark image where as a low shutter speed might result in a very bright image .

This doesn't mean that a low shutter speed is a completely unnecessary , sometimes it can let you takes some amazing shots of moving objects. This is due to the motion blur effect caused by the  shutter speed . As a high shutter speed freezes any movement a low shutter speed will create a blur in moving object , which is amazing when you get it right . For example you are taking a picture of a waterfall a high shutter speed would simply freeze the movement of water , whereas a low shutter speed would create a blur in the movement of water (Which is amazing given that you get the lighting right. . .).

3. ISO - It is the sensitivity of the image sensor . A low ISO will give you  a less sensitive film whereas a high ISO will give you a grainer film. ISO is measured in number like ( ISO 100 ISO 400 etc ). It is always preferable to use a lower ISO as a higher ISO will infact make your image more grainer and reduce the quality of the image. But higher ISO should be used in dark environment when the aperture and shutter speed cannot cope with the environment, So you can use ISO to balance the difference . A higher ISO will infact give you a grainer film but atleast you would end up with a well lit clear photo .

Even Though there are infinitely many options on your camera , knowing how to get the above three perfectly can give you a staggering photo.
